Information

Escion (eh-shE-un) are civilized humans of the planes and tundras. These people are Caucasian. Eschion hair and eye color varies, but they are fair skinned. They have a strictly Patriarchal society, and women have their place in society, and are expected to abide by it. Women sew, cook, clean house, keep their husbands happy in and out of bed, make baskets, weave, spin, garden, farm, tend animals, pick flowers, collect and dry herbs, etc., they do not carry weapons, and can even be punished for doing so, smith weapons and armor, work at any man's trade, etc.. Yes, their society is tough on women, though they do not see it that way. They see it as protecting the integrity of raising families, well tended children and households, and insuring future generations are born, raised healthy, and reach adulthood with a stable upbringing. Any unwed woman who bears a child, and does not marry before the child is born, is placed in a household where she serves the family, while she earns her keep and her child is provided for. These people do not worship gods, but honor, truth, the welfare of all, and the natural cycle which dictates whether their crops will fail or succeed. They revere and fear what is real to them, the world and creatures around them. A god to them is just another powerful creature they have to worry about. Gods they fear, respect, and avoid, nature they give back to whenever they can, as thanks. These people have a King, who has heirs, and if they die without an heir, a new king claims the throne, and proves himself worthy in an arena, against other men who also thinks themselves worthy of the throne. Combat alone is not tested in the arena of Kings, but wisdom, and wits as well. Women from royal households are treated with great respect as long as they know their place. They learn courtly manners, etiquette, and those duties which apply to them. They often act as advisors to their husbands and leaders. An Escion King named Kuryll Duren rules over the Cliff city, his sons Anri, Argydd and Mordyn his heirs. These people have excellent surgeons, nurses, and healers (using diet, medicines, excercise, treatments, etc). Lifespan of up to 200 years.
