Dark Star Vampires

Elven vampires out of the Arcanus Line
Advanced Character, hard to play. For experienced Role Players Only.

Levels: 7-40

Physical Traits: They maintain the traits of their born race with these exceptions: Their skin is very pale, eyes have a russet ring around their pupils which glows fiery red when in combat or feeding. True Born Dark Star tend to have high Charisma-{18+} and be of high intelligence-{No less than 17.} Dark Star Vampires have exceptionally keen senses (+8, +8, +10, +10, +6, +6} split between sensory, or +10 alertness.

Dark Star Immunity Inheritance:
Can include Time Modifications, Forced Teleportation, Gate or Conveyance, Heat, Cold, One Specific Magic Sphere, Mind Modifications. Their souls are protected by the gods of their pantheon, and cannot be taken unless this is somehow bypassed. All start out with 3 free immunites.

Special Death Journey
When a dark star vampire dies they fall into the lower kingdom of the Abandoned World {See Death Journey Chart} where they face trials that will either send their soul to the afterlife of their pantheon, or raise them again as they were but with +1 called weakness. When Dark Star complete their Death Journey Successfully, they receive 1 Magic Item or Power at their current level of power +5.

Way of Death (WoD): All Dark Star, including these vampires, are born with a way of death (Choose Death Factors which cannot be changed once chosen: 1 d3 Way/s of Death: Base the way or ways of their death on their fears, strong dislikes or something in their environment. GM must approve of way/s of death.

Self Healers: Dark Star Immortals are "Self-Healers" meaning no one else can heal them. If someone attempts to Heal a Dark Star, they take damage  equal to each the Healing Power attempted on them.

If No Special Death: If Dark Star vampire is born or reborn without a Way/s of Death, their Regeneration Rate is Base Level of 20 and they can be healed.

Weaknesses
Healing: Dark Star vampires have an inability to be healed or Resurrected by others. They can only heal through "Self-Healing" and be resurrected by ordeal of the Underworld.
Resurrections: They only get 3 resurrections when killed by their "Way/s of Death." Any deaths suffered not of their special way of death, and they can be ressurected as long as their body is not destroyed. If their form is destroyed they will be resurrected by the powers of the Underworld, the Gods of their Pantheon determining how a Dark Star is "returned." {See Underworld Rebirth Chart.}
Predatory Allure: Dark Star Blood is highly valued by Vampires. Their flesh is valued as much by demons. Their blood and Flesh revitalizes vampires and demons quickly and warms them for hours after a feeding without any harm to the recipient. It also strengthens them and increasea their power temporarily. Dark Star blood and flesh can be highly addictive to Vampires and Demons, the flavor varying sometimes to what most pleases the palette in Dark Star Elves and Angelicans. The blood and Flesh of all Dark Star is "Delicious," at the very least. Dark Star have 40% chance of causing a Vampire or demon to pursue their blood if one of these predators catches their scent. This increases by +10% to a frenzy attack if the dark star vampire is bleeding.

Assimilate Ether: shift into vaporous, shadow or illusory forms.

Drain Life by Touch: Strength and Stamina=HP loss.
Create Thrall by Bite: Using a Specific command-'With this bite I command your life and death.'
Sire Progeny:  Level 12 +, A grueling process in which a blood exchange of a pint causes the mortal blood to leech out through the pores until only the vampire's blood remains and the rebirth takes place. The waking hunger is fierce.
Over-Sire: Level 20 +, by complete Blood Exchange.
Telekinesis: +3
Ethereal Planes Travel: They can travel through shadows and ethereal planes becoming shadows and vaporous themselves
Guardian of Chaos: +5 d6, Levels 18+, shields all inborn powers from magic attacks. Must be activated before an action is protected. Uses 5 stamina
Thief of Soul and Essence: Drains -1 Willpower and HP per level for permanant loss.
Mind Walker: +3 d6, Mental Attacks, Dream Scape, Alter Reality, Mind and Dream Walking-Contingency
High Regeneration: Base Level-20.
Livid Phantasms:  Weave phantasms as called.  With 30 successes their illusions can become corporeal
Telepathy: +3
Blood Regeneration: Like the Dark Star immortals from which this race was born, their blood also regenerates when they 'recouperate' when wounded, although the blood lost in consumtion of energy must be restored by the taking of blood.

Wizardry: This race has a natural knack for the arts of wizardry and the access of those spheres. Oft times that is their main school of study. +3-Levels.

Precognition: Many dark star have some sort of Precognative or divinatory ability which allows them to see glimpses or premonitions of the future, or "followings" which allow them to envision and even experience livid accounts as they occur.

Healing: Immortal Dark Star also tend to have touch healing abilities, where they take on the pain of those they are healing-{+5HP per Success, +10 per Ace success.} They also can become strong healers and Resurrectionists through learning to master the threads of the Life Forces-{+10 HP each success, +50 HP each ACE.}

Innate Elementalism: Some Dark Star are naturally adept at Elemental Commands, because their spirits are very in tune with the natural world

Arcane Paths: Can Learn any power (up to 5 paths) that does not oppose their aligment, race or sub-race. If power if used that opposes their alignment they must spend X 2 stamina to use it and shift more and more towards a different alignment every time they use it.

Information

    This Noble race of Vampires is a paradox in that they were born out of the coldest and most ruthless clan of Vampires known. Osireanis - {Born of the Stars} was the first born of this race, force Sired by the Primogen Arcanus himself. Osireanis was an Arian Elven Wizard and warrior, of the dark star race, brother of Filliam the Forest Elven King.  Osireanis was left as dead by his cruel Sire and when after a month he did not awaken, he was buried by his Sire in a tomb on Planet Dark Star.  One hundred years later Osireanis awoke, born out of darkness with all his humanity intact, his will having fought a mighty battle against the cold blooded effects of his Sire's powerful blood. He was born as a new race, with the powers of his Sire, which are forbidden to be used lest there be NO other alternative, and with the powers of Wizardry Osirean himself commanded. Also this magnifcent race of Vampires was born with all the traits of Osireanis' Dark Star Elven traits to be passed on in his blood. These Vampires are hunted by the Elves of Dark Star if they betray any evil tendencies. They can only be destroyed by complete annihilation of their forms and souls.

    Arcanus Lolth was the First Born Vampire created of the abyss. He is named after the planet he was born onto, and his race is named after him. These are the Vampires of Legends, cold, ruthless, no love for anything , their only bond their Inner Circles. This race now rules over the Planet of Congoril as well, which they took over, killing or making slaves of all the inhabitants of that world. It is this race which engendered the Dark Star Vampires.

Nature

    Like the Arcanus, they are extremely intelligent and act on logic, intuition, experience and insticts as well as their humanity and compassion. They can be of any alignment. They will not kill another of their kind unless a great crime against their own has been commited. This is an inborn instict they will not oppose. Some follow the Arcanus beliefs of 'The Inner Circle' and are priests of this religion. The Inner Circle includes self and consists of 5 clan members closest in Hierarchy, each a point on the Star of Creation, the pentagram of Chaos, which like the Abysmal planes, is thought infinitive, for within the center of each pentagram is a pentagon, in which is another pentagram, likewise each pentagram's five points form another pentagon without. Symbolic of Immortality and Infinity. In The Morning Star's Teachings, all of Creation was born of the Abyss, and its flows through all things as Space, that even within living beings, is inner space and outerspace, that which atoms and molucules float within. Priests of this religion are able to access all sphere of Magic, even holy at +3 Levels. Osireanis follows this path.

Habits

    They are very diligent in their studies of magic and very adventurous. They seek causes and sometimes Noble Lords to serve if they are not a Lord themselves. Light aggravates them, blinds their sensitive eyes, and direct sunlight weakens the Elders, and kills those 7th Generation or higher. They prefer castles, caves, basements or dark old manors to dwell within. They often wear enchanted cloaks to protect them from the sun and will venture out in daylight if protected, particularly the more adventurous souls of this race.
