These gray owls are speckled with black, and have irregularly barred breasts. Their tails and wings are black with gray bars. They are very large owls which grow to twenty-eight inches in height. Their large talons are perfect for catching rabbits and other medium-small prey. These owls can be taught to hunt prey like falcons, and woodland elves, and shadow elves often use them for this purpose, forming tight bonds with this long lived birds.

These owls vary in shades of gray from dark to light with gradual color transitions which give them the appearance of smoke. They have black faces and gray beaks, and have wide wings and fanned tails. These owls live in forest lands, and mountains. They are a large owl which reach two and a half feet in height.
These owls are the size of a horse and have two strong rear legs and two smaller front arms with slashing talons sometimes used as legs. Some of the human races call them owl-griffs although they are six-limbed owls (their wings being the third set of limbs). Their colors vary, some are white with blue eyes and large ear tufts; others slate grey and spotted with barred light underbellies and breasts with smaller ear tufts; some are brown with russet eyes, barred chests, with large green eyes and no tufts. Another is a giant sentient version of the Great Eared Smokey Owl (below). These birds are sentient thought few humans can speak their language.

These owls are silver with white, black, and dark grey speckles. They are a large owl which reaches 26 inches in height. They are a mountain and cliff-side bird, which prefer high promontories for perches. They have incredible eyesight, are highly intelligent, and can learn to speak in broken speech, though their voices are deep and coarse. They hunt rats, mice, snakes, and other small to medium-small sized prey. These birds mate for life and are untamable unless raised from hatchlings with an owl of the opposite gender for a mate. If the other owl is unhealthy, or for some reason one of the owls 'dislikes' the other, the owls will not bond and they will try to escape to find a mate. If they are unable to escape to freedom, they will stop eating, drinking, and perish.

These giant owls vary in grey shades with undertones of red, blue, and gold, which can be dark or light. These owls hunt large prey, and have a taste for predatory animals. They live in ancient forests and jungles and nest in the tops of titan trees near clearings which they can swoop down into when they spy prey passing by. They rarely hunt humans unless they have learned to fear or distrust them. These giant owls blend in very well with shadows despite their enormous size.

They have wide, short, yellow beaks used for cracking nuts and husking seeds. They sing in rythimic sounds which rhyme. These very large raptors are similair to Harpy Eagles, only instead of crests they have horned ear tufts. They have black hoods, rust-brown bodies, and cream colored undersides and leg skirts. They are highly territorial and will attack anyone who comes too close to their nests or roosts. They roost high in the canopies of rain forest trees.
